Anticholinergic: The action of certain medications that inhibit the transmission of parasympathetic nerve impulses and thereby reduce spasms of smooth muscle (such as that, for example, in the bladder).

The most common manifestation of Atarax overdosage is hypersedation. Seek emergency medical attention if an overdose is suspected. If vomiting has not occurred spontaneously, it should be induced. Immediate gastric lavage is also recommended. General supportive care, including frequent monitoring of the vital signs and close observation of the patient, is indicated.

While the varied Atarax side effects cannot be forecasted, if any occur or increase in intensity you need to inform your surgeon right away. Only your health practitioner can identify if you should still take this anxiety medication regardless of the Atarax complications.
