Clarinex is available in three different forms. A once-daily 5 mg tablet approved for adults and children age 12 years and older. Also available is a tablet that dissolves orally on the tongue, without the need for water. These tablets are also taken once daily and come in two sizes. A 2.5 mg tablet approved for patients 6 years and older, and a 5 mg tablet approved for patients 12 years and older.

Schering-Plough Corporation today announced that the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has approved CLARINEX-D(R) 24 HOUR (desloratadine 5mg and pseudoephedrine sulfate USP 240 mg) Extended Release Tablets for the relief of the nasal and non-nasal symptoms of seasonal allergic rhinitis (outdoor allergies), including nasal congestion, in patients 12 years of age and older.
