Claritin is a drug that can be used to treat a variety of allergy symptoms, including runny, itchy nose; sneezing; and watery eyes. It works by blocking the action of histamine receptors in the body, which prevents the immune system reactions that cause allergy symptoms. Claritin is now available without a prescription, and it comes in several forms. Side effects can include headaches, drowsiness, and dry mouth.

Anticholinergic: The action of certain medications that inhibit the transmission of parasympathetic nerve impulses and thereby reduce spasms of smooth muscle (such as that, for example, in the bladder).

If you have never heard of Claritin it is simply an allergy drug that people take to combat allergy symptoms. The active ingredient inside Claritin is Loratadine which is an antihistamine and helps suppress normal allergy symptoms.
